Accident Disability Income - Flex Benefits

Accident disability income benefits provide you with weekly income when you can’t work due to an accidental injury. You can select the weekly benefit amount to best align with your monthly income or household bills. Many independent contractors, small business employees and self-employed entrepreneurs don’t have access to short term disability benefits.

Accident Weekly Total Disability Income Benefit
Total disability is defined as an accidental bodily injury from a covered accident occurring while the coverage is in force, and the member is not able to engage in any employment or occupation for which he or she is or becomes qualified by reason of education, training or experience and is not engaged in any occupation for wage or profit. The primary insured must be gainfully employed at the time of the accident to be eligible for payment.
After an elimination period of fourteen (14) days, benefits are paid monthly for up to 90 days per disability due to a covered accident.
